About Our Exhibition
We are a selected group of ten local artists who get together once a year in late October to show ten pieces of work each, over the weekend - hence a hundred pieces of work altogether. Our Exhibition takes place in Baslow Village Hall in the charming Derbyshire village of Baslow, close to the magnificent Chatsworth House Estate. Visitors are welcome to view the exhibition, and browse to their hearts content, and maybe purchase a piece of work that takes the eye. The work on display is varied, and of a high quality, and features a number of different disciplines including sculpture, textiles, printmaking and digital art, as well as many different styles of painting. We also offer a greetings card sales counter, allowing visitors to purchase original cards, and most of the artists have unframed originals and prints on offer. Throughout the weekend many of the artists are there to answer questions and in some cases to demonstrate their skills. You can win one of hundreds of prizes featured in our "Tenbola", and when you tire of browsing, we have a tempting selection of drinks and cakes for you to enjoy.
Entry to the Exhibition is just £1 per adult (children free), and all profits go towards helping Sheffield Samaritans continue their vital work. This exhibition has raised over £30,000 for Samaritans since its first exhibition in 1996.
