Isabel Blincow, M.B.E.
Isabel started her working life as an Art Teacher in Secondary School. When family came along she turned from teaching to machine embroidery, and soon became an accomplished artist in this field, demonstrating and displaying her skills at The British Craft Show, in London, Hatfield House, Waterperry Park, and other national venues, leading to an extensive customer base. The physical demands of working daily on a sewing machine eventually led to a change of direction, and a return to her first love, painting, with acrylics her first choice and watercolour and pastels not far behind. Isabel has continued teaching, moving from children to adults, and currently has 60 painting and needlework students in four classes. She was responsible for the creation of The Great Sheffield Art Show in 1988
