Since 1953, Samaritans nationally has been supporting those in distress and/or having suicidal thoughts and intentions. Each year, throughout the UK, Samaritans handles over 2.8 million contacts with people who feel able to talk to them about their experiences and feelings. Samaritans' vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
Sheffield Samaritans was formed in 1963, and has been in it’s current property on Queens Road, Sheffield since 2006. 80 volunteers work round the clock to support callers by phone, email, text and face to face. All the profit from the Ten Artists Exhibition goes towards helping Sheffield Samaritans continue their much needed work.
